Artist's Comments

A sort of experimental image, and it's a pity that significant amounts of detail were lost upon resizing... oh well. The idea behind the painting is that the lady is creating birds that are bringing rays of light to the columns, from which humans are created, one strand for each. No, I don't know what I was thinking either. :D

Tools - Corel Painter 8, Vue d'Esprit 4, Trust tablet.

Update! Now prints and other goodies with this image available at Ellen Million Graphics. Also note that the image there has his lady more properly dressed. Click the link if you want to see more details. :)

This is really nice. Reminds me alot of Micheal Whelan's work. Very cool!

Oooh thanks! M.Whelan's works are dreamy! *.*

Thanks for the comment! The background does use a render, but very little of it has not been left painted over. :)

I will try my best to critique it a bit, although it's awesome...if I say something stupid, ignore it because I suck.

I really love the lighting, the colors, and the little stars in the sky. It's all very elite. However, the towers look plain. I mean, they have the whole rays of light by them, but they just look plain and there. I would like to see more detail in them, although you did mention that detail was sacrificed during resizing.

Overall, I think it's one awesome piece of work. Deserves a favorite from me.

Thanks! It's a good point about the towers. I wasn't sure how far to push them, because I'm not too certain about my architecture drawing skills (or more like lack of them >.>;), but I'll keep it in mind for future pictures. ^-^

I'm not sure if the artwork is supposed to be split or if thats a tecnical descision meant to show us more detail in certain areas.....Its very beautiful and spiritual.....I also with the detail wasn't lost it really is beautiful and I wish I could have seen it before!
