Edit 13.09.2010. A couple more tweaks - levels and a lot of small lighting adjustments. Depth reads slightly better as a result so I'm finally happy with it and calling it done. *kirbydance*
Edit 06.05.2010. I wasn't 100% happy with the image, so I finally went back and fixed a billion little things. In my super biased opinion the pose and all should read a little better now. I put up the old version here, in Scraps, for comparison so you all know I'm not spamming your inbox just because. Dx
A personal project that took quite long in between everything else, was a really good learning experience, and probably filled my quota of drawing mossy rocks for 2 years in advance. (Not that it means I won't turn around and paint some moar mossy rocks like 3 days down the road. >_>)
Anyhooow. He's meant to be a shapeshifter, currently sporting a form suitable for long happy fluttering around and not a whole lot else - hence the peculiar proportions. The stuff wrinkled around his waist in a horrible mess is quite expensive clothing, and the patterns on the feet and hands are a way of promise to those he's been dealing with that there will be no further shapeshiftery shenanigans going on, as changing would obviously disrupt the markings. Given all that, he's a representative of some sort, taking a short break on the way back home. By the look of things, the journey was probably successful.
Corel Painter 9, Wacom Intuos 3, and I don't know and don't want to know exactly how long this took. :L
May be reposted for as long as my name and preferably also a link to my gallery are provided along with the image in a clear way. No modifications.
