Ävirilion is a character created by Benedict Wolfe that I had the pleasure to depict as a commission. He is over a thousand years old albino sun elf, a blind necromancer who has a magpie familiar which serves as his eyes and ears.

Corel Painter 9, Wacom Intuos 3, time taken - umm err, let's just say a bit too long. :|

This is a portrait of a specific character, so please be mindful of that and do not modify it or use it as a RPG portrait etc. Thanks.

it's gorgeous, but the hand on the right looks like it has 5 fingers (plus thumb) for what would be a total of 6.

Thanks! The background was a royal pain in behind - lack of practice with indoor settings might have something to do with it - but it seemed to fit the character, so I resisted the temptation to switch it out for something else. Old cathedral-like areas have their charm. *-*

Thanks for the comment! It's probably 'cause the thumb is sticking up and the magpie's foot is resting against it with the wing behind which all looks a bit strange in the end. At a larger size the fingernail is discernable so it actually reads as a thumb, but like this it's just all sorts of awkward. xP
